Occasionally, I get comments that I don’t let through moderation. Typically, the comments that don’t make the cut are rude, or obscene, or are simply name-calling screeds. Sometimes, I do let them through, like today, so that others can see the kind of responses I get.
The following comment was left by “Eric Malroy” although he signed it as “Thomas” at the end. Apparently whoever it is can’t remember which alias he’s using today.
I find your propping yourself up as a teacher of the word highly offensive given the fact that you fail to follow biblical teachings and principles. You bring forward charges against Doug Wilson but hide behind the anonymity of the Internet. You operate like the devil, hiding in the background, shooting your poison darts, and cackling in the background! Are you a teacher of the word? To be fair, I don’t know about Doug Wilson, but I do know that you twist his words and he has no chance to respond and defend himself. You respond that he can reply to your charges, but it is filtered by you! Who are you to operate a court against a teaching elder in the church? Essentially, that is what you are doing! If you have a charge against the man, then you need the place it against the man openly revealing yourself and working through the church. Otherwise you should keep your mouth shut and let God work, either approving his work or condemning it! Certainly, you can pray in all this but you should be biblical. You should not be a busybody in the church, if you are a truly Reformed Daughter! Yours in Christ, Thomas
He knows nothing about Doug Wilson, but he knows you have twisted his words? Hilarious. I guess he also doesn’t know that Doug Wilson has a blog in which he can defend himself quite nicely. If Wilson only knew he had such wise and holy crusaders fighting on his behalf…

I found myself chucking only halfway through…
The first giggle was when he wrote how you “hide behind…anonymity” (first name Rachel last name Miller), but I think I made a laughing sound out loud when he wrote: “You bring forward charges against Doug Wilson… I don’t know about Doug Wilson, but I do know that you twist his words and he has no chance to respond and defend himself.”
Soooooo. he admittedly does not know about Doug Wilson but DOES know that you twist his words. Ooooookkkaaaaayyyyyy…….. And I guess Wilson hasn’t a clue how to do a google search on his own name to find posts about him and is clueless with a keyboard too.
Sigh. His post made my day. Thanks! That was a fun read.

Well, as the Apostle Peter famously said, “Your adversary the devil, as a stealthy ninja, walketh about, seeking whom he may shoot poison darts into.”

I don’t remember ninjas being in the Bible! I must’ve slept through that sermon.

Galatians 5:7-12
7 You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you. 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view, and the one who is troubling you will bear the penalty, whoever he is. 11 But if I, brothers,[a] still preach[b] circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed. 12 I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!
False teachers must be exposed and there is absolutely no provision in Scriptures for dealing with them gently or respectfully.

Where have you basically taught over men? I have never believed in women preaching in the pulpit in the church. But, professing your beliefs publicly and fighting for truth is not the same in my mind. Please explain what you think is the difference. I have been in two different spots of emotional and verbal abuse, and one previous spot in husband’s emotional plus constant adultery. I want to follow Christ but am so tired of being sick from abuse that is added to my physical issues. Thank you for in advance for your service to the LOrd.

“… he has no chance to respond and defend himself.” Hahahahahaha!
He not only has the chance but takes on his detractors by name as he did with me and a couple other people about a year ago. And when it comes to twisting someone’s words, that’s exactly what he did in his response and defense of our criticism of his incessant misogynistic name calling.

Yes, that struck me as very odd. Wilson very clearly defends himself on his blog and elsewhere.

Plus he has tons of defenders who come to his aid, both famous pastors/writers and small bloggers.
